Dr. Moore's journey in research began early in her life and has been marked by a steadfast pursuit of excellence in both clinical and scientific realms. Starting her research endeavors at Brigham and Women's Hospital during high school and college, she later transitioned to becoming a full-time laboratory technician at the Center for Engineering in Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Driven by a passion for both medicine and research, she pursued further training at UMASS Medical School, where she was recognized with a scholarship and entry into the Clinical and Translational Research Pathway. Following her General Surgery Residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dr. Moore honed her skills as a post-doctoral fellow at the prestigious Micheal Longaker Lab at Stanford University, contributing significantly to noteworthy projects and earning multiple accolades. Her expertise was further refined through a Surgery Fellowship Training at the Harvard Combined Endocrine Surgery Fellowship before she assumed her current role as Academic Faculty at the University of Rochester. At UR, Dr. Moore seamlessly balances her roles as a skilled surgeon with that of a dedicated scientist, leading a dynamic research lab that delves into the interplay between stress, progenitor cell behavior, and aging. Through her cutting-edge research initiatives and clinical projects focused on enhancing our understanding of Endocrine Diseases, Dr. Moore continues to push boundaries in both the laboratory and the operating room, embodying the essence of a true clinician-scientist committed to advancing healthcare practices.
